Every year hundreds of students apply to the IBPS exam and clear it based on merit. Similarly, in 2021, the IBPS exam was held, and the IBPS PO result was announced on 01st April 2021. The IBPS exams are taking place from the year 2011. The exams taken in the year 2021 were the 11th sequential exams of the IBPS PO. These exams are not in one phase but involve three multiple phases which are a combination of exams and interviews.

What are IBPS PO Exams?

IBPS PO exam is conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to select the candidates from all over India who are competent for the post of Probationary officers in different departments and sectors of India. 

IBPS is providing its services to many banks. Multiple banks are listed as members of the IBPS society. These banks include most public sector banks such as LIC, SIDBI, PNB, BOB, and many more.

Location of the IBPS PO Exam and the vacancies

The IBPS PO exams are held for eligible candidates all over India. There are many locations where the exams are held. In addition to this, the exam can be held online as well. Apart from the physical and the online exam, there are no other modes to appear in the exams.

Every year the IBPS PO online portal receives an enormous number of vacancies. Similarly, this year, the portal is said to have received around 4135 vacancies from all over India.

The IBPS PO notified the interested candidates about the exam on 19th October 2021. After informing the candidates about the exam, the registration process began the very next day from 20th October 2021 and continued till 10th November 2021.

Apart from taking the main exam, the IBPS PO also calls the eligible candidates for the pre-exam training. The pre-exam training was held in November 2021.

Like many universities opt for a preliminary exam before the actual exam, IBPS PO also aims to hold a preliminary exam that is likely to be held from 04th December 2021 to 11th December 2021. The process is hastened to make the candidates ready for the actual exam.

The admit cards of the prelims are issued from 20th November, and the candidates who have applied for the exam can download their admit cards online by visiting the IBPS website. The result is likely to be announced in the last week of December or a few days after the prelims are held.

The students gear up for the actual IBPS PO exam, which will likely be held in January 2022. The candidates are advised to register for the exam through the online process. This process can be duly completed on the IBPS website. In addition to this, the application form is completed upon the attachment of the photographs, signature, the required fee, and IBPS PO handwritten document of declaration.

For the final exam, the admit cards are announced at the last of December or January. The IBPS PO exam will be held in January 2022, and the result will be announced in February 2022.

The selection process involves completing the three-stage process, which involves the prelim exam, main exam, and interview. The prelims and the main exam will be held online, while the interview will be held in person.

The process after the exam involves the interview and the selection process. The interviews are conducted in February or March 2022, and the final allotment for the year 2021 is completed in March 2022.

Application fee for the IBPS PO Exam

All kinds of fees taken in favor of IBPS PO are nonrefundable under any circumstances. The application fee cannot be held reserved and will also be deposited online during registration.

The charges for SC/ST/PWD are Rs. 175/-. These are the intimation charges only, which the general charges and the other miscellaneous charges are Rs. 850/-. This includes the application fee and also the intimation charges.

Phases of IBPS PO Exam and details

All the superficial details of the phases of the IBPS PO exams have already been discussed above. The following details are according to the IBPS PO selection criteria.

  • Online Preliminary Examination

The IBPS PO shortlists specific candidates for the main online exam after the preliminary exam.

  •  Online Mains Examination

The candidates have to qualify for the main cut-off percentage and the sectional percentage to be eligible for the most important phase, the interview phase after the main exam.

  •  Interviews

The interviews are conducted by the organizations which are part of the IBPS. The Nodal bank majorly mediates these organizations. The Nodal Bank is located in each state designated as the center of IBPS PO Exams.

  • Final Result

The final result is the overall performance of the candidates in the three-staged process: the prelims, the main test, and the interviews.

  • Provisional Allotment

The provisional allotment list is released on the official website of IBPS PO. As many applications are received each year, the allotment list is made according to the filling and completion of the application forms.

The role of IBPS PO is limited to selecting specific candidates and the issuance of the allotment list. Now the joining of the candidates and assigning each candidate a specific bank is attributed to the specific bank itself and the involvement of IBPS is restricted.
