JEE Advanced 2023 Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern, Eligibility

The JEE Advanced 2023 exam will begin from 4 June 2023, Sunday. This date was announced on 22 December 2022, Thursday by the Department of Higher Education’s official website (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/).

To enroll for this entrance exams, candidates are required to fill out an online application form and submit it online. The registration date for submitting an online application form is between 30 April 2023 at 10:00 IST to 4 May 2023 at 17:00 IST.

The examination will be held on 4 June 2023, Sunday. It is divided into two papers: Paper 1 is between 9am to 12 noon IST and Paper 2 is between 2pm to 5.30pm IST.

Candidates can view the final results of the entrance examination online on the official website (https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/). You are requested to check the official website for any updates after the examinations are complete.

JEE Advanced 2023 Examination Registration Fees

The examination registration fees are different for Indian Nationals and Foreign Nationals including PIO/OCI.

For Indian Nationals:

  • Female Candidates – Rs. 1,450
  • SC, ST, and PwD Candidates – Rs. 1,450
  • All Other Candidates – Rs. 2,900

For Foreign Nationals:

  • Students living in SAARC countries – USD 90
  • Students living in Non-SAARC countries – USD 180

JEE Advanced 2023 Examination Pattern

The JEE Advanced 2023 Examination Pattern is announced by IIT Guwahati on the official website. You can read all the details about the examination pattern from the official IIT Guwahati website page. The details include the mode of paper, different types of questions, total number of questions, the marking scheme, and total marks.

It is a computer-based examination with three different sections: physics, chemistry, and math. There will be 2 papers in total and the time to complete each paper is 3 hours and 4 hours for PwD candidates.

The language medium of the examination is English and Hindi. Total number of questions is 54 with 18 questions for each subject. The marking scheme is divided into three grades: full, partial, and zero marks.

The paper pattern of the JEE Advanced 2023 Examination is divided into 3 parts:

JEE Advanced 2023 Examination Eligibility Criteria

For candidates appearing for the JEE Advanced 2023 examination, these are the required criteria that you have to fulfill:

  1. Performance

Students appearing for the JEE Advanced 2023 exams have to be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidate in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) Examination 2023.

  1. Age Limit

You are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced 2023 examination only if you are born on or after 1 October 1998.

There is an additional option for people born after 1 October 1993, this 5-year age relaxation is provided to candidates in the SC, ST, and PwD levels.

  1. Number of Attempts

Students can attempt the JEE Advanced Examination only twice in two consecutive years.

  1. Appearing in Class XII Examination

If you have appeared in the Class XII examination either in 2022 or 2023 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, then you can apply for the JEE Advanced 2023 exams. These subjects are compulsory.

  1. Earlier Admission to IITs

You are not eligible for the JEE Advanced 2023 examination if you have been admitted to any IIT. It doesn’t matter if you have continued in the program or have been admitted to any IIT in the past.

If your admission has been cancelled to any respective IIT, you cannot appear for the JEE Advanced 2023 exams.
